The Library Archive, Vol.3

A 12 track soul jazz album (28m 28s) — released November 3rd 2023 on ATA Records

Taking heavy inspiration from Jungle Obsession 9 by Roger Roger, and The Feed-back, as well as Blaxploitation era composers such as Willie Hutch and Melvin Van Peebles, and the masterful and ingenious Roy Budd, "The Library Archive Vol. 3" draws deeply from the well of library greatness. The tracks on "The Library Archive Vol. 3" evoke the mean streets and hip venues across 70s Upper Manhattan, death stalking among the palms on the boulevards of LA, slick hideaways in Brazil or Malibu as well as sputtering rocketships, ticking bombs, mad scientists, car chases, stakeouts and the occasional satanic ritual. Each track has been lovingly crafted with a keen ear for authenticity and the same eye for detail shown on 'The Library Archive' Vol. 1 & 2, recorded on the same instruments and equipment and with the same techniques as the music that inspired it, with a focus throughout on stripped-back rhythm sections topped by flute, vibes and vintage synths. With three volumes now out and another currently in R&D, The Library Archive will stand as a testament to the love the ATA producers and artists have for the original composers and performers.

ATA like always - bring the musical heat with their latest offering. Pick bass wild synths & funky drums dominate the proceedings where - Shawn Lee Library Music Film

Deeply moving instrumental jazz-funk-soul business. Basslines to die for throughout, bananas flute-funk and killer horns. Heavy, heavy recommend! - Rob Butler Be With Records

It’s extremely hard to re-capture the special/unique sound & energy that was made in the late ‘60s/early ‘70s on some of those experimental library LPs but ATA are getting about as close as possible all these years later???? - DJ Formatt
